Opening Day - Salmon Fishing
Season - 1999

It was a difficult task to get some anglers
away from the free whisky.

|
| |
|
Some fishing was done on opening day. At
Kenmore the rods braved the elements and in
spite of the high water the river was still
running clear as a bell. The Hotel pool offers
fish a last resting place in clean water before
entering the loch and the Taymouth waters
often take the Kenmore Trophy as a result.
After the ceremony Rob Wainright and his son
Dougie accompanied by Andrew McTaggart the
owner and ghillied by Paul Fishlock took to
the Hotel Pool in one of the Estate boats.

Their short tip did not result in a fish,
but they had a grandstand view (along with
Grampian TV) of Jim Mundell landing the first
clean fish of the day. Dougie was not happy
as missing out. So we resorted to pre packaged
trout!

Even the local bobby "Grev" had a go. Who
was it said that a Policeman's lot is not
a happy one!
