News Headlines

The summer fishing has been much improved over previous years. For the first time in three years we had a proper grilse run. Many went through very quickly, but if you were in the right place at the right time the fishing was great. Bob McIntyre recorded five grilse in one evening in the space of half an hour.

At time of writing (end August) there are loads of fish in the Perth Town Water. The river is low, but the next spate should bring them in. We have been taking daily river height measurements. These clearly show that the best summer fishing has come in the middle of a spate. See the Charts.

It is also very pleasing to see so many fish going back.
