Extending to about
1¼ miles of predominantly double bank,
the Lower
Kercock and Delvine fishing on the
River Tay lies just upstream from Islamouth. The
beat marches with the Meikleour Home Beat and
Upper
Kercock.
For the 2000 season, 3 rods will be available
with the services of a ghillie from the start
of the season until 24th June, on both a daily
and a weekly basis, with priority being given
to weekly lets. Thereafter the fishing, as usual,
is let on a weekly basis for 6 rods until the
season's end on 15th October.
Fishing is from the bank, by wading and from the
boat. There is good access to the river and there
is a fishing hut situated on the right bank. The
most productive pools on the Lower Kercock water
include Oak Tree and Cottage Stream, and during
their week tenants will have the chance to fish
the famed Gean Tree, Dungeon and Garden Pools
on Upper
Kercock, with which there is a rotational
arrangement.
As Lower Kercock is only 8 miles from Blairgowrie
and 14 miles from Perth, there are a variety of
hotels and country houses in the area.
