Salmon trout and sea trout fishing on approximately
2 miles the River Earn. Fishing is from the north
bank only. The beat extends from the eastern march
of Wallacetown Farm to the western march of Gateside
Farm. See
Map. This is the lowest of the non tidal beats
of the River Earn. It lies just above the mean
high water springs. Access is easy with the M90
and the A912 crossing the beat.
Could this be the best value fishing on the
Tay system? Being a lower beat some of it can
be a
little sluggish, but there is a really nice weir
just below the bridge which has just got to
produce
fish. And being close to the tides you just know
that fish have got to be coming in and out.
Could
be well worth keeping an eye on the tide time
tables. If these combine with a clearing spate
this could be the spot to be.
Be advised that below the weir is definitely
tidal so treat with caution.
No Sunday fishing. No Shrimp or Prawn. No Dogs.
No Fires. Only one rod to be used at any time.
Fishing is from dawn to dusk.
