The Association controls over seventeen miles of Salmon, Seatrout and Brown Trout fishing on the River Nith and it’s major tributary the River Cairn. The Nith, a medium sized river, 45 miles long, flows south through Sanqhuar, Thornhill and the town of Dumfries before emptying into the Solway Firth near Southerness.
Membership of the Association is available, subject to acceptance by the management committee, to persons residing permanently within ten miles of Dumfries. Permits for visitors to fish the Association waters on both Nith and Cairn are available throughout the season. Permits are issued through the online booking system which is on the FISHNITH website.
Day tickets available.
