One and a half miles of right hand (south) bank salmon and sea trout fishing on the middle River Dee in Aberdeenshire. Day tickets sometimes available. Holiday cottage accommodation available. One of the 3 Ballogie Estate beats.
Commonty is a secluded and extremely attractive beat. Access is gained by a forest road which descends through coniferous woodland to the river. The pools are of extremely varied character which enables fishing at all heights. The main pool, the Garden, is an angler’s delight and versatile to the most discerning fisher. Suicide, the top pool, as the name suggests has difficult wading with good reward while the Chair, Loop, Bend and Points are productive pools with their own attractive characteristics. In all, Commonty is a lovely beat of great variety where peace and quiet is an added bonus. Like all Ballogie beats the flora and fauna is one of the main bonuses with roe deer and otters common sights.
Two holiday cottages to let.
