The beat covers both banks, but access is from the Left hand bank only.

The Pools

The beat extends from Caputh bridge for approximately 1 mile down the left hand bank.
The beat actually covers both banks, but access is from the Left hand bank only.
The banks on this beat have been heavily engineered so that fishing much of the left hand bank is done from boulders.
There is some nice wading in the middle section at low water.  The salmon fishers working a boat have a better time.
The beat ends after the bend some 50m below the steps up a man made bank where there is a barbed wire fence behind you.
Note that brown trout fishing is fly only.

Trout fishing on this beat is administered by Dunkeld & Birnam AA
No coarse or grayling fishing.
Fishing is by fly only using a conventional fly rod, reel and line. No bait fishing and no spinning.
Fishing from one hour before sunrise to one hour
after sunset. No Sunday fishing.
Day tickets at very reasonable cost,
6 fish bag limit. All trout under 10″ to be returned.
All parr and smolts to be returned unharmed.
Four rods available.
