Salmon Fishing2 miles of double bank fishing. Prices range from £20 – £200 per day Benchil Offers some of the best fly fishing on the Tay in the summer and autumn in low water conditions. Excellent fly fishing for Salmon and Grilse from July to the end of the season in low water conditions. Pitlochrie Has 9 named pools including the world famous Pitlochrie pool and others including, Dyke side, Kirkie Stream, The Wash House, Cawnpore, Minister, Woodside, Horsey and the Tar Tank. This beat offers good bank fishing in all heights of water for fly fishing and spinning. It is also excellent for harling from the 2 boats provided. Stanley Fishings – General The beats are situated about 4 to 6 miles from the top reaches of tidal water. The beats especially Catholes, Pitlochrie and Benchil are amongst the most famous Spring fishing beats on the Tay plus they offer excellent autumn fishing in medium to low water conditions. | Trout fishing on the Pitlochrie beat (left bank) is administered by Perth & District AA. Eight day tickets are available at very reasonable cost. Fly only with a maximum hook size 10 except during spate conditions when bait fishing using a conventional fly rod reel and line is permitted. No bag limit. All trout under 9″ to be returned. Fishing from1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset. Sunday fishing is allowed. Large parties by prior arrangement with the association. | The Benchill Beat (right bank) and the Stanley beat operate as one for trout and coarse fishing. Trout and coarse fishing on this beat is run by Stanley AC. 20 rods evenly spaced are allowed on these beats and the Luncarty beat. Fishing is only available from January 15th to October 15th. Fishing is available 24 hours so night fishing is permissible as is Sunday fishing. Fishing is by fly or bait using a conventional fly rod reel and line. No spinning.
