Bicton Specimen Angling Club. Control Bigwood carp fishery in Shropshire and Flintsham carp fisheries in Herefordshire. The BSAC was founded in 1988. Syndicate Fishing on 3 lakes.
Flintsham is a 16 acre estate lake constructed by Capability Brown in the 1700s,the lake is roughly the shape of a 50p piece with swims on 4 of the 5 banks the 5th bank is left for a safe haven for the fish and has climbing/walk out trees for fish observation. The stock comprises of between 80-120 Isle strain x Horseshoe fish between 20 and 40 lbs which are young mint condition fish that are growing all of the time.
Bigwood is an 18 acre estate lake dating from the 1800s. The water is over half a mile long and has four islands. The lake was fully re-excavated in 2001 and now has a uniform depth of 6.5 ft with some deeper holes to 8 ft. The lake has 18 purpose built swims and apart from swim 1 and 2 (behind kidney island) all swims are on the western bank.The lake has been stocked with 525 Carp 300 from high singles to mid twenties mostly from our own stock, 200 horseshoe strain 6-8 in fish (3 years ago) and 25 dintons between 4 and 6 lbs, the dintons are now coming out at high doubles,and were only stocked 18 months ago.
