East
Rose Coarse Fishery
Five lakes, with a surface area of more than three acres, form a superb
natural water in this most remote and tranquil of sites. Four of the lakes
have been professionally developed into a high quality coarse fishery.
Half a mile of banks and 22 thoughtfully sited pegs to choose from there
is enough good sport to provide a challenge for the most proficient angler.
Top Lake and Deep Pool provide sport for the serious and more experienced
angler with Tench to 8lb and Carp to 22lb. Island Lake has access to two
pegs especially provided for the disabled angler and is stocked with Roach,
Rudd and Bream to 3lb, and Crucian Carp to 4lb. Eery Pool has been especially
designed and stocked to help young anglers.

Rivermead
Farm
Has approximately one mile of single bank
sea trout and salmon fishing on the River
Fowey, which forms our southern boundary.
The Fowey
is
not a
wide
river being approximately 45 feet wide
on average; the river is
tree lined with streamy runs and small
pools. There are some good fly fishing
areas, however, the trees do make it slightly
more challenging. |

River
Camel Fisheries Association
The River Camel rises on Bodmin Moor and
reaches the sea about thirty miles later
at Padstow
on the North Cornwall coast. The Camel has
been fished for salmon and sea trout for
centuries and the first royal charter was
granted in
1199. Records show that in 1750 rights were
available on payment of a fee to the Duke
of Cornwall to take salmon by use of barbed
spears.
Needless to say, these rights have now been
revoked. There are four main tributaries,
the Allen, the Ruthern, the de Lank and the
Stannon
and these provide wonderful nursery and spawning
water. There are also countless small streams
offering safe havens for sea trout and occasionally
salmon. |

Estate
67 salmon best 22lbs Both Fishery records
and, we hope, evidence that the Hatchery
is working! 114 sea trout best 9lbs 8oz
Lowest catch but given the huge summer
river, perhaps
not surprising. Good number of larger
fish. The fish counter at Lostwithie showed
that
5500-6000
sea trout and close to two
thousand salmon
ran the river in the twelve months to
December 2008. |
